Thomas Roy Savoca, a beloved father, husband, and war veteran, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023, at the age of 91. Surrounded by his loving family, he transitioned from this world at 12:35 am, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew him.

Born on July 18, 1932, in San Francisco, Thomas was the son of Josephine and Thomas Savoca. He dedicated his life to service and honor, beginning with his courageous service in the Korean War from August 1949 to September 1952. As a member of a tank platoon, he later became an invaluable driver for a lieutenant forward observer for artillery. His unwavering commitment to his country was a testament to his character and devotion.

Thomas’s adventurous spirit and zest for life were evident in his passions. An avid hunter, fisherman, and water-skier, he owned a Chris Craft boat that reflected his love for the water. He was equally at home on the slopes, being an enthusiastic member of a ski club. His diverse interests made him a captivating presence in the lives of those around him.

In 2003, Thomas met his current wife, Beverly Aguzzi-Savoca. The couple eloped on June 3, 2013, in Reno, NV, solidifying their deep connection. Tom’s first marriage was to his beloved wife, Odel Pfaff, whom he met through the ski club. This union lasted for decades and brought forth a cherished family.

Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and family. He is survived by his children: Thomas Savoca Jr, Robert Savoca, Kristina Savoca-Rodrigues, and Andrea Savoca-Beck, who is married to Anthony Beck. His grandchildren, Carly Rodrigues, Chase Rodrigues, Nicole Savoca, Jake Beck, and Mia Beck, will forever cherish the memories they shared with their “Papa.”

Thomas was predeceased by his first wife, Odel, who fought a courageous battle with cancer, passing away on February 15, 2001. He is also reunited in the afterlife with his siblings: John, Nikki, Ann, Joe, Mary, Frank, and Sam. Reunited with his parents, Josephine and Thomas Savoca, he finds solace in their eternal embrace.

A devout Catholic, Thomas’s faith was an anchor in his life, guiding him through his journey with grace and humility. He will be remembered not only for his service to his country but also for his dedication to his family, his adventurous spirit, and his unyielding love.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life and legacy on August 26, 2023 at 4pm, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather, share stories, and honor the man who touched their lives in countless ways. Thomas Roy Savoca will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of strength, love, and resilience.
