Shirley Anne Payne, 83, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones after a short but bravely fought battle with cancer on July 19, 2018 at her home in Sunnyvale, California.
Shirley Anne Ball was born on September 14, 1934 in Hillingdon, England and moved to the U.S. in 1987. She was an avid knitter and loved to play cribbage and Words with Friends. She also loved travelling, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Alfred J. Payne, children Harry, Geraldine, Irene and David, stepdaughter Barbara, brother Ian and sisters Jean and Jackie, fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a lover of life and a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all.
There will be a small, private service for immediate family; a celebration of life for family and friends will be held in the coming weeks.
