After a three year, eight month battle with Glioblastoma (GBM) an aggressive of brain cancer, Sam Ajam died peacefully at his home in San Jose, CA on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was 55.
Sam’s immediate family includes his father, Naaman Ajam (mother Ghada Amanatullah-Ajam deceased) of Tripoli, Lebanon, loving wife Christina Ajam, brother Dr. Zaher Ajam of Beirut, Lebanon, and his super affectionate cat Sophia.
Sam was born on August 30, 1966 in Lebanon. At age 20 he came to the U.S. to attend college and live with his uncle, aunt and his four younger cousins in Saratoga. He quickly mastered West Valley College here he made life long friends. He graduated from the School of Engineering at Santa Clara University with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Sam also held an MBA in Technology Management which he put to good use co-founding his own business.
He married Christina Houle in 2000 and made her laugh everyday for 21 years. Soon after their marriage he transitioned from the computer industry to teaching at both West Valley College and MetroEd. Being the energetic, super multi-tasker that he was, in 2004, he and Christina worked tirelessly to create and build the successful web design and digital marketing agency called BizzwithBuzz and also its subsidiaryBuzzRecruiter.com.
Sam was accomplished at business and happily shared his knowledge with others. He was a generous individual who loved helping people, students, and clients alike. He was passionate about entrepreneurship, and obsessed with business trends and the financial markets. He was the apple of Christina’s eye and a joy to work with for those lucky few who had the honor. He enjoyed (actually loved) gardening, including raising backyard chickens (but really wanted goats). He loved traveling to exotic destinations, jumping out of planes, gliding over water and other insane adventures, and each really loved food, from cake to sushi and everything in between.
The funeral service and graveside burial will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 14th at the Los Gatos Memorial Park. A reception to follow for family and friends at the Saratoga Foothill Club (20399 Park Place, Saratoga). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sam’s beautiful life. Flowers are appreciated (please send to Darling Fischer, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, CA 95030). The flowers will be donated to Flowers of Comfort at the celebrations end.
The family would like to thank the UCSF Brain Tumor Center team (especially Sam’s Neuro-oncologist, Nicholas Butowski, MD) and the Vitas Hospice team for their exceptional care and dedication.
