Tribute

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Rosemary Farley (Lenny). She was born on May 27, 1935 in County Tyrone, Ireland and died in Los Gatos, CA on February 1, 2021, which is the Feast of St. Brigid, one of the patron saints of Ireland. In her 85 years, she lived life with love, faith, and a radiant smile. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John, her son Kevin and his wife Lee-Anne, her daughter Kathleen and her husband Ben, and her 3 grandchildren, Sean, Ava, and Clara, as well as her brother Joe and his wife Kate, her sisters-in-law Agnes and Maura, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was loved dearly by all who knew her. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone she met, from her family and friends to those she met only briefly. She was athletic, fun, generous, devout, beautiful, humble, selfless, and adventurous. After working as a teacher in England, she lived in Italy for several years before moving to California in 1960, where she worked as a flight attendant for Pan Am and traveled the world. In 1964, she met John and they moved to Cupertino in 1970, where they raised their family and lived together until she died. She always remained strongly connected to her family in Ireland, a connection she passed on to her family who enjoyed many memorable trips, in particular to County Donegal. She was also the California connection to her extensive family and was a gracious host to dozens of Irish family members and their friends over the years.

Rosemary was a beautiful person who lived a life of grace that will continue to inspire us all. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Catholic Charities of California.
