Johann Andreas Hoffmann passed away October 13, 2018 at the age of 83. His son Rick, Daughter-in-law Valerie, and all of his family and friends will miss him dearly. His wife, Helga, is grateful to have her husband by her side again.
Johann was born in Germany, December 19, 1934, and came to the United States when he was 28 years old. They purchased a home in Campbell, CA where he started their painting business named European Painting-Decorating. Johann was more of an artist with paint and saw the brush as an extension of his hand. Before leaving Germany, he painted a mural in the Heidelberg train station and it remains there today. In 1976 he was contracted to restore the Native American stenciling at the Great Lounge inside the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite. In his youth he started playing soccer and always loved the sport. He never missed a game on television, especially World Cup. They saw many San Jose Earthquake games in the 1970 and 1980. He loved their many family dogs and spending time in the garden.
Johann was always there for his family and passed his love of painting to his son Rick. He loved chatting with people at home improvement stores and construction sites about how the build was going. He cooked his famous ribs once a month for family dinners.
