Joan Shadle Stark, born to Martin and Ruth Shadle on November 19, 1930 in San Jose, passed away in Fresno on March 20, 2018, at the age of 87. As a child, Joan enjoyed camping, skiing, tennis, and adventures at the lake with her family. Joan met and married Alfred Stark, her Los Gatos High School sweetheart, and together formed a family of six children. After her children grew up, she and Al enjoyed bowling leagues, traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, and exploring in their motorhome. In later years, Joan was active in her Friendship Circle in San Jose and the Clovis Community Center in Clovis, CA. Joan enjoyed crocheting, needle point, jigsaw puzzles, reading, researching ancestry, and even traveled to Scotland to pursue her search. Joan is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Stark, her son Lance Glen Stark, grand-daughter Lauren “Lolly’ Wooley, and great-grand-daughter Daniella Rexford. She is survived by her children Pamela (Chris) Perreira, Denise Stark, Mary Johnson, James (Michelle) Stark, Eric (Lisa) Stark, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and her brothers Steven and Michael Talley and sisters Kathryn Wood and Sara Shadle, along with many cousins, nephews and nieces. Any donations can be made to Saint Agnes Hospice in Fresno, Ca. Memorial Service to be held at Darling & Fischer on Campbell Avenue in Campbell at 11:00 on April 7, 2018.
