Dr. James I. McNelis III passed away on August 12, aged 63. Predeceased by his dear parents, Dr. James I. McNelis Jr. and Frances (Tancy) McNelis (Carson), James completed his Ph.D. in Medieval English at the University of Washington, and taught at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and Wilmington College, Ohio. His many enthusiasms included medieval studies, popular culture and film, U.S. politics, fencing, and all things Japanese. He will be greatly missed by his many good friends, his colleagues, his former students, and his loving siblings Christina Restall, Molly Dykstra, Annie Warden, Sarah Poulain, Miranda Middleton and Benjamin Middleton, stepmother Mary McNelis, and extended family.
