Grayden “Grady” David Lanagan died suddenly on February 17, 2020 in Los Gatos, California. He was 30 years old. Born on November 26, 1989 in Santa Cruz, California to parents Douglas and Catharine (Tiddy) Lanagan, he spent the majority of his life in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Grady attended Loma Prieta Elementary, Baymonte Middle School, and Los Gatos High School. He attended vocational school to study automobile mechanics and graduated from the Universal Technical Institute in 2012.
Grady loved music and could be seen happily playing his guitar or attending a local concert of his favorite musicians. Although Grady had many talents, his real passion and love was for cars; he spent his blood, sweat, and tears working for hours on end modifying his cars into race cars. He was most happy spending time on the skid pad drifting or driving in an abandoned parking lot with his friends. He loved to come up on a good deal on a used car and was also very generous in offering his assistance, advice, and time to friends and family with their cars. Grady was a hard worker and found much success working as a service writer for BMW. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was often seen joking with his friends and coworkers. His laughter, spirit, and energy will be greatly missed by all that came to know him.
Grady is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his older brother Sean Lanagan. He is survived by his parents, brother Corey, and love of his life girlfriend Pilar Svendsen as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A service and reception will be held on Sunday March 8, 2020, 3pm at Darling Fischer Memorial Chapel. 231 E. Campbell Avenue, Campbell, CA 95008.
