On August 11, Evelyn M. Buck went home to be with the Lord. She was a blessing to her family and those who knew her.
She lived 108 fruitful and beneficial years giving her love and service to all, especially to her church and her faith. She was a natural leader and organizer!
She was born in the horse and buggy era and lived an exemplary life through the several wars and scientific advances that gave us mastery of atoms and space. She was witness to it all and clear-minded to the end.
Her family consisted of three sons: Wayne who became a doctor, Richard who became a pharmacist and David who became a professor of music at a major university. At her passing she had 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was known and loved by all of them. Her family meant everything to her. Our close knit family would gather for her birthday and major holidays each year just to be with her.
She traveled the world after retiring from the Campbell School District. She became a travel agent and international tour director. She learned Spanish and conducted tours for Spanish speaking clients. Of all the places and countries she had been to, her favorite place was Yosemite. Our family camped in Yosemite for many years exploring the trails and high country.
She is now in her heavenly residence. The Lord has a special person!
Our family and her many friends miss her, but we rejoice in her long life and cherish our great memories of her.
